Temple, 45, taught art and AVID at Pearce and received praise after his death in a letter to parents posted on the Richardson ISD website.

“Mr. Temple has been an incredible part of our Mustang family over the last 2 years,” wrote Principal Mike Evans, “and will be dearly missed by his students and colleagues alike.”

The Dallas Police Child Exploitation unit, which is investigating, became involved after learning Temple had been conducting a sexual relationship with a student at a different school. They request that anyone with information about Mr. Temple’s case or knowledge of additional victims call DPD at 214-671-4215.

The age and sex of the known victim has not been released.

In a letter emailed to RISD’s high school parents Friday night, Superintendent Jeannie Stone urged parents to have a talk with their teens.

“Mr. Temple was a teacher at Pearce and in RISD for two years, since 2017. Please speak with your student to determine if they have information relevant to the police investigation, and contact Dallas PD if they do.”
