Eric J. Ban presents the Dallas County Promise program to LHHS staff.
Through the Dallas County Promise, Lake Highlands High School will provide “last-dollar scholarships” to students who graduate with a high school diplomas or associates degrees. The Promise scholarship covers the gap between need-based financial aid and the cost of tuition up to the completion of a degree, according to its website.
LHHS is one of 57 promise high schools participating in the program. Staff learned about the possibilities for the Class of 2020 at a meeting on Aug. 13. Eric J. Ban, Managing Director of the Dallas County Promise, led the presentation.
Students are encouraged to partake in a Promise pledge to their education, starting Oct. 1. Learn more about the program and deadlines here.
