Lake Highlands alum and pro golfer Blaine Hale Jr. failed to make the cut for the next qualifying round of the U.S. Open Championship.
The former Wildcat, who went on to play golf at The University of Oklahoma, shot six over par Monday during the sectional qualifying round, which took place at Bent Tree Country Club and Northwood Club, both in Far North Dallas.
Eleven other sectional qualifying tournaments will be played around the country along with Japan and England through June 3 to determine the final competition field.
The U.S. Open is scheduled to take place June 13 through 16.
