Flag Pole Hill will be rockin’ this Saturday as the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands brings bands, brats and beer for their eighth annual Oktoberfest.
Austin’s Bob Schneider headlines the entertainment, sharing tunes from his new album Blood and Bones. Also performing will be Petty Theft, the Tom Petty cover band, Epic Unplugged, the LH dad band known for acoustic versions of rock anthems, Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner, led by Woodrow Wilson High alum John Pedigo, and others.
When you get hungry, choose food from Kuby’s, One90 Smoked Meats, Urban Crust Wood-Fired Pizza (owned by Lake Highlands’ Gisellu family), Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha, AwShucks Oyster Bar, Pokey O’s Cookies & Ice Cream, Bahama Buck’s Shaved Ice, Haute Sweets Patisserie, Crepe Crazy, Steel City Pops, Lone Star Kettle Corn and Oma’s German Treats. You can quench your thirst with Wild Bill’s Olde Fashioned Soda Pop or have something a little stronger with beer from Franconia or Oak Highlands Brewery.
Entry wristbands may be purchased online for $10 or at the door for $12. Tickets for food and drink will be available at the event.
Proceeds will be distributed by the Exchange Club for community projects and college scholarships for LHHS seniors.
Oktoberfest runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 29.
