The Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce distributed giant checks (and depositable bank-sized ones) last week after their highly successful Restaurant Week in April. The event, where patrons eat at neighborhood restaurants and charities receive a kickback, raised over $8,000 and grew more than 15 percent from 2017.
Four beneficiaries, Forerunner Mentoring, Feed Lake Highlands, Healing Hands Ministries and Pamper Lake Highlands, received just over $2,000 each.
Participating restaurants included Atomic Pie, Resident Taqueria, Lake Highlands Creamery, Cedar & Vine, Lake House Bar and Grill, One90 Smoked Meats, Picasso’s Pizza, Mi Cocina, El Fenix, JJ’s Café, KayCee Club, Yogurtland and Shady’s.
Congratulations, all.
