Options abound today, and you’ll have good reason to sample many of the neighborhood’s finest eateries during Lake Highlands Restaurant Week. Each participating restaurant will be fundraising for a local charity which tugs at their heartstrings, and the event, sponsored by the Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce, is designed to highlight North Texas Giving Day.

The fun kicks off Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m. when all the restaurants and nonprofits welcome neighbors for a party at Alamo Drafthouse’s Vetted Well. After that, each spot will host its own event(s), with the theme and food specials of its own creation.

Shady’s will have a happy hour benefitting Healing Hands Ministries Sept. 13, along with a family dinner Sept. 14 and business lunch Sept. 19. Haute Sweet Patisserie will host Beignets and Coffee for Heart House Sept. 14. Lake House Bar & Grill and One90 Smoked Meats are hosting Meat Fight Sept. 14 to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society. RM 12:20 Bistro will have happy hour Sept. 17 benefiting Kids U. Cedar and Vine will host Steak and Tots for Pamper Lake Highlands Sept. 17. Feed Lake Highlands gets a kickback from meals all day Sept. 18 at BurgerIM, and Dallas Children’s Theater benefits from sales Sept. 18 at Vetted Well in Alamo Drafthouse. Additional special events are scheduled for Resident Taqueria/Forerunner Mentoring, Fish City Grill/ClickIt4Life, and Bellagreen/For the Love of the Lake so reach out to your favorite local spot for details.
