A 56-year-old woman was killed Saturday evening while crossing the road at 9100 Forest Lane near Greenville Avenue.
Carmen Carey was using a motorized wheelchair to cross an unmarked intersection when a white vehicle traveling westbound struck her, according to the Dallas Police Department. After being taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Carey was pronounced dead.
The vehicle immediately fled the scene, and police have yet to locate the driver, who will be charged with failure to stop and render aid-death, a felony offense.
