If you think Wildcat Head Coach Lonnie Jordan is the cat’s meow, now’s your chance to prove it. Jordan, in his 3rd year leading the team, has been nominated Whataburger Coach of the Week by the Dallas Cowboys.
You may go online here to vote for Jordan (it’s quick and easy), and he’ll be awarded a $2,000 grant by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation and Whataburger for the Wildcat football program if he wins. Also nominated this week was Gary Bartel of Grand Prairie High.
Tonight’s final game of the season is a big one for the Wildcats, since they’re likely to clinch a spot in the playoffs. LHHS, tied for 4th against Pearce, plays winless W.T. White at White’s Loos Fieldhouse, 3815 Spring Valley. The Wildcats beat Pearce last week 42-28. If LHHS wins, we’ll earn the title City Champs for the 3rd year in a row and face a District 10 opponent in the first round.
You can read Advocate intern and LHHS senior Kyle Klemme’s feature story on Jordan here, and his recap of the game against Pearce here.
Go Cats – and go Coach Jordan!
