Dallas’ billion dollar bond package passed easily in Tuesday’s election, with each of the city council’s proposals receiving at least 62% of the vote. A replacement library for the outdated facility at Forest Green in Lake Highlands and a new library for nearby Vickery Meadow earned 75% of votes cast.
Friends of the Dallas Public Library board member Karen Blumenthal says the next step will be updating the architectural plans done a decade ago so that work can move forward. The site at 9619 Greenville, south of Forest near Braum’s, was purchased using funds from the 2006 bond.
