Suspected serial robbers were caught red-handed.
Police believe four young men committed seventeen robberies in the span of one month at the Stone Ranch Apartments located at Skillman near LBJ, close to the DART rail station.
The robbery spree began in January and continued on a fairly regular basis until a few days ago.
After speaking with victims, Northeast Patrol officers determined the same four suspects seemed to be involved all 17 crimes. Police developed “persons of interest” and worked closely with Stone Ranch management to identify them.
By then the cops were surveying the property closely — practically around the clock, they say — aiming to catch these suspects in the act.
Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. undercover officers spotted three of the suspects burglarizing an apartment, and they pounced.
They arrested Christopher Roan Perkins, 24, Andre Lamar Drumgoole, 18 and Ladarrius Jamar Williams, 25, stolen property in all of their hands.
“All three arrestees were transported to police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives,” notes a public information officer. They remain jailed and charged with aggravated robbery and burglary of a habitat.
Perkins and Drumgoole admitted involvement in the home burglary and several of the robberies.
Detectives continue to develop information linking the three men to the remaining offenses, and to locate the possible fourth suspect, they say.
