An Albertsons employee noticed the fire around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning and called police. The fire was coming from an empty suite between The Alligator Cafe and Albertsons in Casa Linda Plaza.

The City of Dallas Fire-Rescue Department was able to put out the fire before it caused any major damage to the neighboring suites, but Alligator CafeMonster Yogurt and the upstairs law offices were forced to close due to smoke damage.

Monster Yogurt had to throw away its ice cream and most of its toppings because of smoke damage, but owner Ava Skipworth says she’s glad the fire department was able to contain the fire quickly, and she even took a “yogurt party” to the station yesterday.

After three days of heavy cleaning, both Alligator Cafe and Monster Yogurt have reopened.

Cleaning and repairs are still being made on the empty suite where the fire was located, and officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
