Senior Night will be special this year for Wildcat baseball, as the team celebrates nine graduating players. At Tuesday night’s game against North Mesquite – the last home game of the season – seniors will be recognized before the game in a ceremony honoring their years of commitment and their dedication to the team.
“What I will miss most is just enjoying the time on the field, the nice weather and the good times with my teammates,” says Walker Carvajal, who will attend the University of Arkansas in the fall.
Though the Cats won’t make the playoffs this year, Carvajal says his teammates have collected plenty of great memories of times spent and games won.
“My favorite would have to be the time I hit a triple at a tournament my sophomore year playing on JV Black. It was a triple RBI, and it allowed us to win the tournament.”
The boys’ final game will be at Mesquite Horn May 1.
Congratulations, in addition to Carvajal, go to seniors Robert Coomber, Myles Matz, Jack Morgan, Giovanni Ortiz, Sergio Soler, Brett Stell, Reed Thomas and Andrew Vlad.
