Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League members held their 11th annual Run the Highlands Saturday, and early indications point to record numbers for the community fundraiser. More than 900 participants had pre-registered by Friday, with another 150 expected to show up at start time.
You can see my photo slideshow of the day here.
Funds raised will be used to begin a new Lake Highlands tradition – a holiday lighting ceremony at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center on November 29, the Sunday night after Thanksgiving.
If you didn’t Run the Highlands but you’d like to support LHJWL, it’s not too late. President Julie Goodale, event coordinator Jessica Baker and all the women who volunteered at the event say they’d love to receive your donation online, via their website here. And they look forward to seeing your family, and the rest of Lake Highlands, at the lighting ceremony.
