“The spirit shared by these servant leaders is fundamentally one of the reasons why RISD is such a special place,” Meierhofer told the crowd, “and the infusion of their effort contributes immeasurably to our success.”

“The Board of Trustees created the Spirit of RISD awards in 2007 to honor our unsung heroes doing extraordinary things for RISD,” explained Meierhofer, “serving our students and our staff with vivacity, vigor, enthusiasm and vigor.

“With a tremendous heart to serve, the Lake Highlands Women’s League has been partnering with RISD for 44 incredible years and has disbursed more than $1.5 million dollars to Richardson students. Each member is committed to serving the Lake Highlands community, and collectively they give upwards of 2,500 hours each year.

“Their work and accomplishments are vast, and you can read more about them in our program, but if you want to join there is a waiting list! We are truly lucky to have them as part of our RISD family.”

Also attending were LHWL Communications Chair Robin Norcross and President-Elect Paula Davis.
