If you’re already planning to stop by Lakewood Whole Foods this week, try to do your shopping Tuesday (April 29): That’s the day 5 percent of Whole Foods sales proceeds benefit the C.C. Young Benevolence Fund. The benevolence program helps subsidize C.C. Young retirement home residents “who have outlived their financial resources”; last year, more than $600,000 was budgeted for food, shelter, medicine, nursing care, laundry, utilities and transportation to doctors. For information, contact Jennifer Griffin at C.C. Young (214-841-2903 or jgriffin@ccyoung.com).
