Amy AckerAmy Acker didn’t attend the Lake Highlands High School 50th Anniversary celebration, but she was one of many on the “Notable Alum” list. The 1995 grad is currently starring in CBS’ hit TV series Person of Interest (episode 18 of season 3 airs tonight at 9 p.m.)

Amy, the oldest of Judy and Rodney Acker’s four children, went on to SMU where she got a degree in acting and performed in multiple productions. She also played various roles in the children’s TV series Wishbone, filmed in the Dallas area.

Amy worked in New York City making independent films before moving to L.A. and landing the role of “Fred” on CBS’ Angel. While on hiatus she was in Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo di Caprio, and she had a recurring role in Jennifer Garner’s Alias. She was in the creepy Cabin in the Woods, and you can see her starring as Beatrice in Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing, out on DVD last October.

Root and BearPerson of Interest, starring Jim Caviezel  (Jesus from Passion of the Christ) and Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus from Lost), is a crime drama about a former CIA officer and a reclusive billionaire who work to prevent violent crimes in NYC using a mass surveillance computer system designed to prevent terrorist attacks. Amy’s character, Root, is a highly intelligent computer hacker and contract killer who “interfaces” a little too closely with the Machine. Much like Lost, followers just can’t get enough.

Amy is married with two young children.
