Chipotle Mexican Grill has confirmed that it will open another location in Dallas this spring in NorthPark Center.
Over on our Lakewood Daily Digital Digest, updates on the construction of a Chipotle on Richmond and Abrams have garnered over a dozen comments, some hinting that Chipotle takes away from the “charm” or “character” of the neighborhood.
Not sure about those folks, but a hearty burrito has plenty of charm for me.
The fast-food chain makes its hefty burritos with naturally-raised meat and no trans-fat in their cooking oil with healthier offerings like brown rice instead of white.
So when exactly will the NorthPark location open? Chipotle spokeswoman Danielle Winslow says “early next spring.” We’ll keep you updated as construction progresses.
I also asked Winslow about the press I’ve been reading about Chipotle selling pizza in addition to burritos.
“Our new restaurant concept, Pizzeria Locale, is completely separate from Chipotle and they are each standalone restaurants. Right now we have no plans to bring Pizzeria Locale to Dallas,” she says.
So far there is only one Pizzeria Locale, and it opened in Denver early in 2013.
Check back in the months ahead to see updates on opening dates for Chipotle, as well as other stores headed for NorthPark this spring including Tory Burch, Spanx, and more.
