If you think a food item must include meat to be delicious, try telling that to the pumpkin pancakes at Spiral Diner. Not sure if they will bring pancakes, but Oak Cliff based Spiral Diner will be at this weekend’s Veggie Fair, along with dozens of other food trucks and vendors. The State Veggie Fair was founded by a Lake Highlands guy. It is set for Sunday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Reverchon Park.
If you are in the NorthPark area Saturday morning, beware the sea of pink as thousands of women and men run and walk the 2012 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. This event raises funds for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation which provides funding for breast cancer detection, treatment and support. The race is unique in that prizes are awarded to not just the fastest runners, but the fastest-running cancer survivors.
