Becky Range, executive director of the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District, reports that restoration of the fountain at the LH Town Center has begun in earnest. Crews from Valley Crest Landscape and Austin Masonry Construction moved onsite yesterday and expect to complete repairs next week.
You may recall that Sunday morning visitors to Watercrest Park heard a boom and witnessed the collapse of the fountain’s stone walls before their astonished eyes. Said Emily Herrera, standing nearby when the fountain fell apart, “it sounded like two cars hitting each other.”
“A little concerning,” added Christine Craft, “since our boys were walking on that stone wall not even 10 minutes before this happened.”
Valley Crest and Austin Masonry are donating the labor and materials for the repair, and they did the same when the new cool public art was installed just before Oktoberfest.
“It’s nice to see contractors and subcontractors contributing to the Lake Highlands community,” Range told me.
Thanks guys!
