Today only, Central Market is offering a special deal for those planning to take advantage of Restaurant Week, a charity event in which high end local restaurants offer discounted dining, usually $35 per person for a gourmet meal. It’s an increasingly popular way for people who don’t wish to spend a king’s ransom on dinner to try out some of Dallas’ finer dining establishments.

Monday only, CM shoppers making an in-store purchase of $25 or more at Central Market (Greenville at Lovers) can receive two popular Fourth Course certificates, a spokesperson tells us. What is Fourth Course? “Some restaurants (they are marked with a green circle in the list we have linked to below) will create an additional menu item known as the fourth course to complement the standard $35 meal. This course, traditionally an appetizer or side dish feature, is free when you present the aforementioned Central Market Fourth Course certificate during KRLD Restaurant Week”, which begins mid-August.

Reservations for restaurant week begin today.

To book a spot, call the desired establishment and request a “KRLD Restaurant Week” reservation, or do so online at CBSDFW.com by following the link to OpenTable.  Book early and be flexible, organizers say. “Remember that popular places fill up fast and that smaller groups are often easier to seat. Dining out on a weeknight during off-peak evenings like Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday may also help ensure a prime table and time slot.  Look for the many restaurants extending their participation by one or even two full weeks — through August 26 or even September 2 — opening up additional reservation opportunities.
