It was a tough awkward feeling for Lake Highlands High softball Friday night as the Lady Wildcats experienced a loss for the first time in 20 games, 5-4 to Skyline.
LHHS had four errors in the loss and only cracked five hits against Skyline pitcher Jessica Vela. Skyline crossed the plate five times on six hits.
It was only by one run, but the mark still stung. However, learning how to bounce back from a loss shows just as much character as winning it all, and the Lady Wildcats have the opportunity to do just that by finishing the regular season at 7:30 p.m at Richardson Tuesday night.
LHHS still owns sole possession of first place in District 9-5A, but Skyline is one and a half games back. The Lady Wildcats will secure the district championship with a win at Richardson.
