Lake Highlands High had some top finishers in both the boys and girls Varsity District 9-5A Championship on Wednesday.
David Green finished with a personal best 21.47 200 Meter Dash, and earned a gold medal. Green was also featured on The 33 News Wednesday night, and the piece will re-air on Inside Sports at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night in case you missed it.
No surprise, Meron Fessahaie took home gold in the 800 Meter, 1600 Meter runs. That kid can flat boogie on a distance run, I think I saw him flash by me at White Rock Lake a couple of weeks ago, but can’t be sure.
Zach Knickman took first and Derek Floyd took second in the boys shot-put, and Knickman took second in the discus.
Here is a complete list of the final results at the District 9-5A Championships.
And check out this video from the track meet, which includes David’s 200 meter win.
