If you missed the inaugural meeting for the Friends of the White Rock Creek Trail, Ellen Raff has the rundown for you on today’s podcast. What exactly does friendship with a trail entail? Raff gives us her take, and we discuss how an enhanced trail could do for our neighborhood what the Katy Trail has done for its nearby residents.
We also discussed our famous neighborhood alums — most recently, one in a Superbowl commercial, and one who performed on the Grammys — and speculated as to why our neighborhood seems to produce so much talent. We also couldn’t help but name our favorite Grammy moments (and if you listen to the part where Carol Toler mentions seeing Train for the first time on “Who Wants to Be a Millionare?” — yes, we found the video.)
Stay tuned to the end for our shameless plugs: information on how to befriend the White Rock Creek Trail; a musical at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church starring neighborhood students and opening this weekend; and the African Children’s Choir in a free concert this Friday night (6:30 p.m.) at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church.
