Another Blockbuster, this time the one at Skillman-Abrams, is closing. Sadly, the company is not doing well.
But could it possibly mean something good for Lake Highlands retail? We recently learned while researching a story about Hillside Village in East Dallas, that Blockbusters generally occupy some very attractive retail space, and when they shutter, new and relatively exciting things sometimes take their place.
At Hillside, Abrams and Mockingbird, it was a Fuzzy’s Tacos, which has proved to be wildly popular. On the other hand, we haven’t yet seen anyone grabbing the other vacated Lake Highlands-area Blockbuster at Northwest and Plano.
Another bright note: The Skillman-Abrams Blockbuster’s closing sale is underway.
