My column in this month’s East Dallas magazine, talking about the spring mayoral election, was given some perspective over the weekend. Wamre sent me an email blast from Mayor Park Cities, in which he takes credit for the Dallas — and Texas — economies. This is going to be “The Decade of Dallas.”
My favorite bit? Where Leppert says the city has improved flood control along the Trinity River. This would be, of course, the same city that has been dragged kicking and screaming to flood control by the federal government — which Leppert has repeatedly criticized for forcing the city to improve flood control. One has to admire Leppert’s chutzpah, if nothing else.
Sure sounds like the mayor still, desperately, wants to be a U.S. senator, doesn’t it?
