Lake Highlands’ own Darrell Hurmis received an award this month, and it was a biggie. Hurmis was presented the prestigious Stemmons Service Award by the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors in a black tie event at the Dallas Museum of Art.
“It was a thrill and honor to win the award,” Darrell told me. “I am humbled to join the group of previous winners, which reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of the commercial real estate industry.”
Joining Darrell for the presentation were his wife, Kim, his recently engaged TCU-graduate daughter, Holly, and Mizzou student Callie, who’s heading off to London to study abroad. “Having my whole family at the event made it a night I will never forget.”
The award is given based on a combination of professional achievement and civic involvement. Darrell leads the Investment Division of HSM Brokerage of Henry S. Miller Co. He’s proud of the work he’s done over the years with the Mike Modano Foundation raising money for Jonathan’s Place for abused and neglected children. His help with their annual golf tournament has brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars and made a big difference in the lives of children.
Congratulations, Darrell!
