Lake Highlands High senior Trey Bingham poured in another 23 points Tuesday night, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Plano Senior High in an 80-69 loss on the road.
Plano never finished a quarter behind, outscoring Lake Highlands 21-15 and 25-13 in the first and second quarters respectively.
Lake Highlands trailed by 17 in the fourth quarter, but in a matter of minutes was knocking at their door.
Through a serious of rallying fast-break transitions, including two consecutive three-pointers, Lake Highlands tightened the game to 76-67 one minute 30 seconds left to play.
Lake Highlands’ run at the end of the game was not the only attempt they made to take control.
LHHS will begin play in the Allen Tournament Thursday at noon.
