Lake Highlands took the last week off from play, but head coach Melissa Crown hoped it would help the lady Wildcats sharpen their mental edge.
“Our girls are really super smart,” Crown said. “We had a mental practice and analyzed the stats of ourselves. What we can do to get better. Then back to the court.”
Lake Highlands heads to Marcus tonight at 6:30 p.m.. This is the last match before District 9-5A play begins on Friday against Samuell at LHHS.
The last two matches for Lake Highlands weren’t quite the confidence builders Crown would have liked.
“That was scheduling on my part,” Crown said. “I probably scheduled those matches too close after the Pearland Tournament where we did very well, but had a bunch of games in a short amount of time. But the time off should get them ready for our next match at Marcus.”
With a physical break, Lake Highlands should have its legs back and be ready for a big match tonight.
