Gloria Perez will take over as deputy chief of the Dallas Police Department’s Northeast Patrol Division, the department announced today.
Perez is a 27-year DPD veteran who has a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has served in many departments prior to this, including detention services, general investigations, patrol, internal affairs, basic training academy and facilities management.
Perez replaces Thomas Lawrence, who served four years as the Northeast Division’s deputy chief and was promoted.
The Northeast Patrol Division covers much of East Dallas.
