It seems an illegal gaming site has been operating in Lake Highlands at 9205 Skillman, near Audelia, and last weekend, some really ugly stuff went down there.  (The reported location is, by the way, about a block away from the known crime hot spot that is the Forest-Audelia intersection.) According to a police report, on Friday Aug. 13, two adult males entered the business with intent to rob patrons … the suspects were kicked out, left for a while, then returned and opened fire on a doorman, Warren Cooksey, a black 41-year-old male, who was later pronounced dead.

Crime Stoppers, at 214.671.3632, will pay up to $5,000 for info leading to the arrest of the shooters. They are described as follows:

Black males in their early to mid 20’s. Both appear to be around 5’6” – 5’8”. One suspect was wearing a navy pull over shirt with red stripes and a Texas Rangers ball cap. He was also wearing dark long jean shorts. The second suspect is seen wearing a light colored ball cap with some sort of sticker on the bill of the cap. He is also wearing a light colored t-shirt with a light colored shirt that is unbuttoned over it. That outer shirt has a very distinctive pattern on the back.
