The Wildcat baseball squad crushed Laredo Cigarroa, 19-5, at home in the Elks Lodge tournament Friday afternoon.

Strong winds helped the two teams combine for six home runs. The game was stopped after the fourth inning because of the tournament’s time constraints.

Blake Woodson filled up the stat sheet by smashing a double and three home runs, one of which was a grand slam. Woodson drove in nine runs on the afternoon.

Michael Ketchmark added a home run in the fourth inning and Taylor Stell went 3-for-3 in the game.

Every Wildcat who played got a hit, and 13 of the team’s runs came in the final two innings.

The pitching was handled by a combination of Ross Beckvermit, Mark Longoria and Dylan Porter.

The varsity has three games scheduled Saturday: 10 a.m. against Tyler Lee at Wildcat Field, 1:30 p.m. at Richardson, and 5 p.m.at home against Bishop Lynch. The JV plays at home at 12:30 against Shepton and 7:30 against Plano West.
