The Lady Cats could not clinch a playoff berth outright after 39-35 loss at Richardson on Friday night.

LH is 7-6 in District 9-5A and Berkner is 6-7 with each having one game left on the district schedule. A Berkner win and an LH loss on Tuesday would result in a tie for the fourth and final playoff spot.

The girls close out the regular season with senior night at home on Tuesday against W.T White (2-11 in district). The varsity game begins at 7:30. Berkner plays on the road against Sunset (4-9 in district).

On Friday, LH and Richardson kept it close for three quarters until a stretch in the fourth. Richardson held the ball for half of the eight minutes in the fourth quarter, and the Eagles took control from there.

The two teams battled back and forth all the way, the margin between the two never growing larger than six points until the final quarter.

Lake Highlands led at halftime 23-20 after a Hannah Wedding buzzer-beater from just inside half court.

Turnovers were costly as Richardson constantly went after the ball, sometimes double and triple-teaming in order to get the ball.

Tierra Scott led Lake Highlands with 11 points.
