The LH boys basketball team rallied at the end of the game and made it close, but eventually fell to Richardson, 57-53, on Friday. LH held leads after both the first quarter and halftime, but trailed by one point at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

On a night where the Wildcats played in front of their largest home audience, Trey Bingham pumped up the crowd with a huge one-handed slam dunk over an Eagle defender in the second quarter.

Bingham and Tevin Elmore each scored sixteen points in the contest.

LH trailed, 53-40, with just over a minute left in the game, then scored nine straight points, cutting the Eagle lead to, 53-49, with about thirty seconds left to play.
In the end, there simply was not enough time for Lake Highlands to complete its dramatic comeback. A plethora of missed free throws throughout the game led to the Wildcats’ demise.

Although the Wildcats started the week in a three-way tie for third place, this loss drops  LH into fifth place in 9-5A.

With only three games left, the Wildcats no longer control their own destiny in the district playoff race.

LH’s next game is Tuesday night (6:30 JV and 8:00 varsity) at Loos Fieldhouse against WT White.
