When LHHS athletes or performers win state it’s a big deal, but last week LH’s Jordan Brooks earned the title National Tenor Drum Champion, a first in LH history.
Jordan, a senior, plays quads on the marching band drumline and traveled to Indianapolis to compete as a soloist in the PASIC, Percussive Arts Society International Convention. This Marching Percussion Festival draws the finest high school and collegiate drum lines and solo performers from around the county. While Jordan had never competed at PASIC, he did recognize many of the performers. Jordan traveled the country with the competitive drum corps the Blue Knights, all summer, sleeping on a bus by day and stepping out to compete by night. There he encountered and got to know some exceptional musicians from around the country.
Junior Greyson Morgan, also on the Wildcat drumline, placed 4th nationally with his snare drum solo. Greyson, Jordan, and the rest of the Wildcat Marching Band will perform tonight at The Boneyard and show us their stuff. The Community Pep Rally begins at 6 pm.
