LHHS 2006 graduate Anna Russo is working to make a difference on the UT Austin campus. Anna serves as co-director of the Women’s Resource Agency, an arm of UT student government which provides aid to women and works to raise awareness of women’s issues. Anna, a senior at UT, calls herself an “activist,” writing and speaking about domestic violence, date rape, reproductive health, and other issues with students and faculty on campus.
Anna first felt a desire to help others while here at LHHS, acting as service coordinator for National Honor Society and VP of Richardson Symphony Debutantes, a group that donates thousands of hours of community service each year. Anna also blogs about women’s issues and writes a weekly column for the Daily Texan newspaper.
