In about an hour, El and I will be heading down to City Hall to attend the Mayoral Proclamation being bestowed upon A.L. Nickerson, the Lake Highlands Community Garden organizer. It’s taking place at 9 am in the 6th floor briefing room for anyone interested in attending.
Whatever your feelings are about the Mayor, no matter. The honoree, Mr. Nickerson, is a pretty special guy who did – and continues to do – a pretty special thing for Lake Highlands and the City of Dallas – build a garden and bring folks together.
Later this afternoon, we’ll surely have a pic or two (using the cool new Canon camera from BS Troop 707!)
Oh, and for anyone out there with nothing to do this Saturday morning, come on out to the LHCG and lend a hand with the new irrigation system going in. Hey, we’ll have coffee and sweets to share…
