Robert Wilonsky at the Observer had the news yesterday: That copy of Dallas’ Only Daily Newspaper will go up a quarter to 75 cents starting Monday. The Sunday paper will cost $2.
Wall Street was not impressed. Investors sold the stock of A.H. Belo, The News’ parent company, as quickly as they could. Volume was twice as heavy as normal, with the stock down 58 cents to $7.49 a share. It has lost 54 percent of its value since the old Belo split into TV and newspaper companies in February.
