The News has a nice piece today on TEA’s latest school rankings, and RISD is singled out as "the largest in the state to earn the second-highest rating of recognition," according to the News story.

"Richardson’s performance shows that an ethnically diverse district serving significant numbers of economically disadvantaged and limited English proficient students can provide an excellent education to all children," says Robert Scott, acting education commissioner.

Individual campuses that fared particularly well are Spring Creek, Stults Road and Wallace elementaries, all of which were rated "exemplary". Named "recognized" were Aikin, Hamilton Park, Merriman Park, Moss Haven, Northlake and White Rock elementaries. Forest Meadow and LH junior highs were "acceptable", as is LHHS and the Freshmen Center.
