Pei Wei rumored to take Fat Daddy’s spot in Casa Linda Plaza

Update: It’s Facebook official. See our East Dallas blog.

The doors at Fat Daddy’s in Casa Linda Plaza have officially closed for good, according to a Plaza representative. There was no sign on the door, but the parking lot was empty last evening. We haven’t been able to get in touch with Fat Daddy’s to report about what their future plans are, either.

However, it has been rumored that Pei Wei Asian Diner is slotted to take Fat Daddy’s place, but we’re still waiting on official confirmation from the chain’s representatives.

The last time we went to Fat Daddy’s, which was about 3 months ago, it was dirty & grungy. We decided to never go back – no wonder they are closed. You’ve got to keep up a restaurant if you want people to keep returning. It’s a shame as they had decent, fairly-priced food.

One completely average restaurant replaced by another but hey, it’s better than vacant space.

    “Allow” ??

Please elaborate how the neighborhood of Lake Highlands has the power to “allow” anything to happen in Casa Linda.  Or anywhere else, for that matter.

And what’s with the elitist attitude?  “Chain restaurant”?  Oh, the horrors!!!

Pei Wei would be great in the Town Center! Oh wait, there are no structures there. :(

This is in Casa Linda – Pei Wei sadly would probably not be interested in LH.  It’s close though so even though sad to see Big Daddy’s go, glad for Pei Wei to be 10 minutes away!

Would you rather have it be a liquor store?  Goes under the beggars can’t be choosers category.

Casa Linda may not be “Lake Highlands”, but it’s far from “remote”! I live in Lake Highlands and it takes us approximately 10 minutes to get to Casa Linda.
I think Pei Wei would be a welcome addition.

And Fat Daddy’s was disgustingly dirty, while the staff was slow and rude.

Casa Linda is NOT remotely “Lake Highlands”. Chili’s and El Fenix have been there for many years.

We were in Fat Daddy’s on their last day and they said they would be re-opening in a few months in the shopping center by Green Spot.

This is horrible news! Why would Lake Highlands allow a Chain Restaurant in?  We need to keep big business out!
