The Lake Highlands baseball team took down Skyline, 19-3, in its first District 9-5A matchup of the season Wednesday night. The game ended after 4 1/2 innings because of the 10-run rule in high school.
The Wildcats pounded out 10 runs in the second inning, which established a commanding, 14-1 lead.
Senior captain Cameron Bodell hit a home run in the first inning and added a grand slam in the second.
Juniors Blake Woodson and Ben Wolf, along with freshman Michael Ketchmark, had three hits apiece.
Judson Luther, a senior, pitched the entire game for the Wildcats.
LH plays in the Elks Lodge tournament this weekend. The varisty is at home against Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m., while the JV plays a doubleheader at home today at 3 p.m. and 5:15 against Mansfield and Bishop Lynch.
