It was a big weekend for cycling and running in Big D. On Saturday we had the Tour Dallas. I didn’t get video of that one because I happened to be on a long training run for the April 26 Oklahoma City Marathon, but as my running group passed City Hall the Tour was just about to get underway. Thousands of bikers took to the city and passed us as we rounded White Rock Lake. It’s such a rush to see so many people on the streets and trails. Whew!

On Sunday, The Big D Marathon made its way through Lake Highlands, Lakewood and Far East Dallas. See video after the jump — I know the winner of the marathon was Andy Gardner, 28, in 2:47.  I am honestly not sure if that is the same guy I recorded leading the race by a good quarter mile at mile 15. And kudos to my running buddy Sean Taylor, also 28, who ran this, his first marathon, in 3:35, and placed 36 out of 486 marathon finishers. To him and ALL those who ran — nicely done.
