Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has signed a lease at Creekside, future home of Alamo Drafthouse at Skillman and Abrams, and construction of their space is set to begin August 1st. They’ll be in 3,600 square feet on the Skillman corner, former home of Rent-A-Center (before that Blockbuster, before that TCBY).
Fuzzy’s, which originated with a taco shop near TCU and has grown to more than 100 corporate-owned and franchise locations in 9 states, consistently lands on foodie’s “best taco” lists. They serve fish tacos, nachos, burritos and queso in the Baja-Mexican style, with colorful décor, corrugated tin accents and sports on big screen TVS. Ordering is done at the counter, including beer and margaritas, and they open early for breakfast. You can view their full menu here.
The new Fuzzy’s will have a patio out front and is expected to open in late 2017 or early 2018.
“We’re really excited,” said Cory McCord, leasing director for Retail Plazas, Inc. which handles Creekside. “We are getting close to finishing the exterior work on both the main building and the outlying building, and we have 4 other deals working right now. Things are happening.”
Bahama Buck’s will be the first new tenant to open in the center. The snow cone shop opens July 4th.
We’ll keep you updated here at Advocate Media when RPI signs the next tenant.
