Lake Highlands beat Plano East 70-8, Northwest 67-12 and The Colony 65-15 before meeting Flower Mound for the championship.  In the finals, the wrestlers showed a lot of heart as they wrestled well and beat Flower Mound 46-30.  Several individuals went 4 and 0 for the tournament: Isaac Kinsella, Colman Vigil, Isaac Grieder and Ebrima Njie.  The team is currently 11-0.

Winning 400 dual matches is big for any wrestling coach’s career, but doing it in just 22 years is pretty special. Add with that the 17 District Championships, 6 regional championships and 17 top four regional finishes, and you can see why Grieder has been inducted into both the Texas and National Wrestling Halls of Fame.

The Wildcats have a big match coming up Tuesday in the Lake Highlands small gym against power house Arlington Martin.  JV starts at 6 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
