If you’re one of those families that likes to jump from Thanksgiving right into the holidays (confession: I already have my iTunes holiday list playing), Central Market is offering six chances this weekend to get into the holiday spirit with decorate-your-own gingerbread house classes. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the store is holding classes for children only, and also classes in which parents and children can work together to create the edible holiday decor.

Also, it’s not to late to decide to release yourself from the stress of making Thanksgiving dinner. Central Market has a vast holiday menu — everything from complete meals to sides to-go — that you can order in advance. The store also will be open until Thursday at 2 p.m. in case your stuffing comes out tasting like cardboard and you need a quick substitute.

If you need a bird, I highly recommend the Greenberg Smoked Turkey, which is smoked for four days and fully ready to eat upon purchase — no cooking needed. If you’re not much of a turkey fan, the beef tenderloin wth a crunchy herb crust is also excellent. And I’m a huge fan of sweet cornbread, so I love Central’s Market’s cornbread dressing. Many of the holiday dishes are now in Central Market’s prepared foods case, so you can sample before you buy.
