If you are the person charged with spreading the news about activities and events for your church, booster club, homeowners association, PTA, or other neighborhood group, you are invited to attend the Lake Highlands Exchange Club’s Publicity Forum Wednesday, October 14. Lake Highlands United Methodist Church will host the forum from 10 am to 12 noon in their Fellowship Hall, 9015 Plano Road.

Representatives from the various press outlets in Lake Highlands will be on hand, including Advocate Magazine and Back Talk Blog, Black White Read, Dallas Morning News Neighborsgo, Lake Highlands Today, and Lake Highlands Info. The panel discussion moderator will be Rhonda Russell, president of the Exchange Club and former journalism teacher at Lake Highlands High School. We’ll share our tips on submitting articles, taking photographs, interviewing participants, and writing press releases, and we’ll demonstrate how best to submit information online. The public is invited and admission is free, but please make a reservation by emailing me.
