Choices, choices
When the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League takes on a neighborhood project, they do it up right, and if you want proof, look no farther than their recent remodel of Audelia Road Branch Library Children’s Area. The League hosted a party Saturday to debut the project, and the smiles and squeals of attending children were all the approval members needed.

In addition to LH families, reps from the LH Chamber, Dallas City Councilman Adam McGough and even Santa Claus himself were on hand to make sure the ribbon cutting went off without a hitch.
“The goal of the project was to improve the Children’s Area and to provide new, more child-friendly furniture,” said Sarah Hall, president of LHJWL. “We wanted a fun area for the kids to come in and play on the computers and get their basic skills down to have more successful elementary school years and give them some hands-on activities at the great library that’s already here. We also wanted to facilitate that love for reading in a fun environment.”
“This was our annual project, Growing Minds in Lake Highlands,” continued Hall, “and the funds were raised through last year’s Run for the Highlands race. And the Audelia Road Branch Library administration was great to work with, absolutely wonderful.”
“Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League – wow,” praised McGough. “Y’all just continue to come through for this community. We don’t always realize how blessed we are to have an organization like this that is so full of people serving, willing to give their time, money and resources to do something like this. Thank you.”
Lauren Cofer, 7, agreed.
“I really like the new seating area and the rug,” said Cofer. “It feels comfortable. I can read this book about my American Girl doll.”
