At 8 a.m., thunder rattled windows in Lake Highlands. At 8:30, lightning electrified LH skies.
Someone in the LH Exchange Club must be livin’ right, because at 8:35, the dark clouds began to peel away, revealing brighter, if not exactly sunny, heavens overhead. Pretty soon, LH residents began arriving for the LHEC annual Fourth of July Parade – a neighborhood tradition – with folding chairs in hand. The parade kicked off at 9 a.m., right on time, with Grand Marshal Karen Clardy leading the way.
