Updated: We received word from Rex’s Seafood via social media. “Rex has a meeting with the property owners today and we hope to resolve the situation. Please follow our page for updates. Thank you!” Here is the link to their Facebook page.
Rex’s Seafood and Chop House on Mockingbird near Abrams has been locked out of its restaurant “because it has failed to pay rent” and “has committed several other defaults,” according to a note posted on the door by the landlord at Hillside Village.
The same fate met the prior tenant of Rex’s space in Hillside Village; Genaro’s lasted less than a year in the spot before a lockout and rent default notice was posted in the door. The building was vacant for more than three years before Genaro’s opened; two banks had occupied the space before it sat vacant.
