On Tuesday, the Seahawks welcomed Mike Cothern, WRE dad and public safety officer for the town of Highland Park. Mike is trained as a fire fighter, a police officer and a paramedic, and he gave all the kindergarten classes instruction in fire safety and fire prevention. (Did you know that every 16 seconds, a fire department somewhere in the United States responds to a fire?)

Mike, a former Marine officer and 5-time Iron Man triathlete, graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1991. He and wife, Ashly, have four children, who attend (or will soon attend) WRE.
