As Miller well knows, the Lady Mustangs will be LH’s biggest challenge yet. After finishing district with a 12-2 record, Sachse beat Copperas Cove 8-0 and Irving Nimitz 7-0 in the playoffs.

The Wildcats say they’re ready.

On Monday, 11 British referees and their coaches stopped by during practice to wish them luck and give them a few pointers. The men (and one woman) had been hosted by several Lake Highlands families, including Wildcat junior Laney Norris, while they officiated games for Dallas Cup, the international youth soccer tournament held here annually every Easter season. Dallas Cup alums include such world-class players as David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Clint Dempsey, so here’s hoping the pep talk by the British Lads will bring some luck.

The Lady Cats kick off at 6 p.m. at Williams Stadium, 510 Stadium Drive in Garland. LHHS fans are advised to buy tickets on the home side and enter through the home gates. Go Cats!
